Mr. Jeremy Bartunek

2024 GRAMMY Music Educator of the Year Nominee (top 25), Yamaha "40-Under 40" Music Education Excellence Award and Golden Apple Award for Excellence in Teaching winner Jeremy Bartunek has been an active musician and performer in the Chicago area since 2003. He is currently the director of the Northbrook 28 Children's Choir and the General Music Specialist at Greenbriar School. He has led pit orchestras with the Jacksonville Theatre Guild and directed the Triopia High School Concert Band and Concert Choir. As a performer he has appeared on “Good Morning America,” with the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra Society, at The House of Blues, and with the York Drama Department orchestra. He has earned a BM and BME from Wheaton College, an MM from Western Illinois University, is certified in the Kodály Concept and Orff III from DePaul University, and was a visiting research fellow at Northwestern University. Currently, he is earning a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in music education from the Boston University College of Fine Arts.

 

He is an active presenter, accompanist, performer and educator and is the webmaster for the Chicago Area Kodály Educators chapter of OAKE. He currently resides outside of Chicago, IL.
